The story still isn’t the standard Mario fare however, as rather than saving Peach, Mario must get back the castle he suddenly owns from the dastardly new villain, Wario. That, and the game’s plot has Mario fighting an alien he’s not even saving Peach! Compared to all that, Mario Land 2 is slightly more down to earth the Fire Flower’s back in full force, Koopas are back to normal (although those exploding ones do make a comeback, and there’s a few other odd enemies) for the most part, everything checks out. The original Super Mario Land was quite the departure from the average adventures of the portly plumber, with various oddities such as exploding Koopa Troopas and the bizarrely named “Super Balls” replacing the Fire Flower. But alas, I’m now 16 and recently I finally grabbed a copy of Mario Land 2 for collection. My initial thoughts weren’t “this is cool” or anything I was just angry at the amount of classic Gameboy games I’d passed up on in the past, as I suddenly realised they worked on the Advance. My only prior experience with it was back when I was seven or eight and someone on my estate had it in the back of their Gameboy Advance. I’ve been meaning to play Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins for quite a bloody while now. Continue reading → Leave a commentĪ review on this blog that isn’t a SEGA game! Exciting times, these are. Some, such as Virtua Fighter 3 made it onto the Dreamcast (though many consider that one butchered), but on the whole some of the best titles on the board such as Daytona USA 2 and SCUD Race are sadly locked away to the arcades. This is mostly due to the fact that many of the games on it were never ported. Daytona USA 2: Battle on the Edge, one of the Model 3’s darlings.Ĭomparatively, the Model 3’s kind of… forgotten. It’s an arcade platform! The successor to SEGA’s beloved Model 2 board, that being the thing that brought us classics such as Daytona USA, Virtua Fighter 2, Virtual-On, and so much more. And since I’ve nowhere else to put it, it gets to go here! Sorted, lads. Well, now I’ve been asked to write stuff. Oh shit, I have a website! This place died quite a death, huh. I let it through and my computer hasn’t melted though, so I’d say it’s just a false positive. Just a heads up, this build may report as malware on Avast. Oops! Keep an eye on this thread for updated versions. I’ve replaced the version linked in this article with the new build, but with my config setup still intact. UPDATE 22/05/17: Turns out Supermodel’s distributed through the site forums now. (This should be obvious, but this comes with a huge spoiler warning. This list is no-holds barred, so if you’re say, a PC user who wants to go in with all of this as a surprise when the game launches next week, then look away now. …that or ones I’ve completely misinterpreted in my hunt for fanservice. There’ll definitely be some more expected, ‘obvious’ stuff on this list, but hopefully I can point out some neat bits you might’ve missed! So I decided to write something else that’s already been written about a million times Mania’s callbacks and easter eggs! That being said, I’m going to try and delve a bit deeper than some of the others I’ve seen on this topic. Suffice to say, I think it’s the best Sonic game ever, but I couldn’t really think what to write about it when it came to doing a review that hadn’t already been said. For reasons like these I would expect that is whySBlaze was designed as a cat.Sonic Mania released last week! I love it, to the point I’ve now done eight runthroughs of it and like, 7 of those were with all emeralds! Remeber Chris Thordyke? He attempted to feed Sonic cat food in Sonic X. Blaze is from the Sol Dimension parallel to Sonic's dimension (or possibly just in the future of the Sonic timeline, like 06 suggests). Interstingly, Shadow the Hedgehog, Blaze the Cat, Jet the Hawk, and Metal Sonic are all alternate versions of Sonic in some form.
